NuSlate

NuSlate is a fine particle size, wet adhesion promoted copolymer acrylic resin solution designed for sealing natural slate flooring. NuSlate is a clear, non-yellowing sealer suitable for slate, concrete and other masonry surfaces.

Applications & Features

Nu-Slate has exceptional durability, chemical and water resistance, weather ability, rigidity and gloss flow. This product has been designed to provide a slate and concrete surface sealer with excellent weatherproofing, abrasion and wear resistance. Surfaces coated with NuSlate perform exceptionally under conditions of hot, cold and wet weather provided the surface is correctly prepared. Also designed as a two coat system on high density surfaces, NuSlate provides a highly adhesive coating, requiring no waxing.

NuSlate has undergone a rigorous testing program and special consideration has been given to ensure that the chemical composition and compatibility of NuSlate is suitable for Australian and South-East Asian conditions. It also provides excellent protection against bacteria and moulds. Other features include:

Application Guide

  • Nu-Slate is are highly flammable and skin contact should be avoided.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation at all times.
  • Seek medical advice if safety or health issues arise

Equipment:

Best application results on natural slate are achieved using a lambs-wool pad application. Application by brush, roller, broom or spray is also possible.

Touch Dry

NuSlate Sealer is touch dry @ 25°C 30 minutes.

Recoat Time

Minimum 2 hours between coats in warm weather and longer in cool weather.

Curing Time

Curing time is subject to ambient temperature and coating thickness. Full curing is not achieved for up to one week.

Avoid parking vehicles for seven days in cold weather and 5 days in very warm weather.

Do not park vehicles with hot tyres on newly applied NuSlate Sealer for at least five days.

Clean Up

Use Nutech Thinners to clean equipment affected with NuSlate

Warnings

Do not apply NuSlate late in the day as the risk of surface damage caused by dew and condensation increases. Sealer affected by moisture loses gloss and may appear milky.

NuSlate contains flammable solvents and suitable safety precautions must be taken during handling and application.

Ensure adequate ventilation if applying sealer in enclosed spaces. Avoid contact with naked flames, sparks, pilot lights and other sources of ignition.
